Scandalous Sandals in Time for Summer

Hello my sisters of style,

And welcome to SUMMER in the northern hemisphere! Hoorah! it’s the time of year when we all shed our cocoons and transform into fabulous, floaty, sandal-glad goddesses. In the past I’ve opted for the strappy-and-pretty-with-no-support-whatsoever-which-will-definitely-ruin-your-walking-holiday type of sandal. Unfortunately, I just can’t bring myself to wear what I would term the ‘Nanna sandal’ no matter how soft/practical/supportive they may be.

So I feel like I’ve struck gold with Clarks Shoes’ ‘Hotel Image’ sandal in honey leather as they’re the perfect trade off between stylish and practical. The shade ‘honey’ is so lovely and summery, however if it is too bright for you they are available in a few other colours including navy and white. I bought them in the last week or so and since then they’ve been reduced even further (my punishment for getting too excited) so grab yourself  a bargain. I’m usually a size UK 9.5 however I bought the size 9 in a wide fitting so they are definitely a generous fit.

Being a hybrid between a shoe and a sandal they’re casual enough for a pretty summer dress however I can dress these babies up a bit more, like I’ve done below. I wore this outfit to work today (and got heaps of compliments for the shoes, might I add!). The skirt is Next (last season), the striped top I purcahsed from the Asos Tall range, the necklace from Accessorize and the wool jacket is vintage M&S which I picked up in an op-shop on Byres Road, Glasgow.

I would LOVE to hear from you with any recommendations that you have for snazzy sandals in larger sizes!
